Audrey Justine Tautou, a French model and actress rose to global fame through her role as a timid exaggerated waitress that won numerous awards in the romance comedy Amelie. Tautou has been compared with Audrey Hepburn, due to her attractiveness, charismatic acting and talent. Tautou, a pretty girl with dark hair that was raised in a well-educated family, was never likely to go into acting. Her mother was a teacher and her father was dental assistant. It was at school that she caught the acting bug and made the decision to pursue a career as a full-time actress. She attended the Cours-Florent acting school and landed her first acting role in the television film Coeur de cible. Venus Beauty Institute saw her perform in her first film which was well-received. The daring actress likes to play with different kinds of roles. She has appeared in various genres of film that range from romantic comedies like Amelie to the action thriller Dirty Pretty Things. A native of France she has appeared in numerous French films before making her Hollywood debut along with Tom Hanks in the film The Da Vinci Code. As a model she is highly regarded because of her style and is considered a fashionista.
